ithinx Joins ZBOSS Open Initiative and Integrates ZBOSS Unified Zigbee Stack into iXpro SOM

Cologne, March 4, 2025 – Today, ithinx announced the addition of the ZBOSS cross-platform Zigbee® stack to support its ithinx iXpro System on Module (SOM). Additionally, ithinx has joined the ZBOSS Open Initiative (ZOI).

ithinx has chosen to use ZBOSS for the following reasons:

Hardware independent

As an IoT Developer, ithinx serves a variety of customers with different needs and above all, different chip preferences. It is also not unusual for customers to wish to change chip suppliers from generation to generation in product ranges. At the very least, customers cherish the peace of mind of not being “locked in.” ZBOSS enables ithinx to offer this choice as it is supported by the majority of major chip suppliers.

Plannable Resource, manageable Maintainance

Regardless of platform, ZBOSS consistently requires a similar level of memory for implementation. Its standardized design also allows ithinx to apply uniform maintenance practices across all projects regardless of which chip our customer prefers. This again drives down the cost of preparation and maintenance per project, helping our customers’ business cases.
